Professional continuing education approved trainings and certifications are available for healthcare professionals who would like to incorporate nutritional science, detoxification and neurotransmitter and hormone balancing technologies into their practices. The
training is comprehensive and does not simply focus on one or a few aspects of brain wellness. After the basic didactic material is mastered, practitioners are encouraged to delve into the
science of laboratory diagnostic testing and to learn which test panels are appropriate for different problems. Two levels of training are available, a Basic/Didactic Level and a Masters Level, and they both provide continuing education credit for various licensed professionals. One must complete the Basic/Didactic Level of training and pass the examination in order to participate in the Masters Level training.
The Basic Didactic Level focuses intensively on the issue of
addiction, especially chemical addiction which includes not only illicit substances like cocaine and marijuana and "recreational substances" like tobacco and alcohol, but also "America's Other Drug Problem," prescription medication. Chemical addiction however is only one serious type of addiction which generally causes the most severe life damaging consequences, and behavioral addictions such as gambling, sex, carboholism (carbohydrates), control and "love addiction" (codependency), money and workaholism, to mention a few, are also addressed, because they are all driven by the same aberations in brain biochemistry which compel human beings to seek solutions to their problems through attachments to external objects (like a relationships, or money or drugs and alcohol) rather than looking within oneself (e.g., "the journey within") to break the compulsive attachment which
causes suffering and to discover authentic spiritual freedom.
Accessing that spiritual freedom requires first of all being in possession of a relatively undamaged brain, or having a balanced brain chemistry which is nutritionally restored, detoxified and neurotransmitter balanced. It would be unwise to undertake a long journey in a car which is out of gas, has not had the oil changed for 50,000 mile (detoxified) and has not had a tuneup and scheduled maintenance checks. This physical dimension to recovery, mostly ignored by all psychospiritual paths, prevents most of humanity from the opportunity to break attachments to their addictions and find spiritual freedom. Participants in the Basic Didactic Level will begin the process of becoming proficient at laboratory testing of brain function by learing how to test for the extremely important issues of heavy metal toxicity and adrenal function (cortisol and DHEA testing), as well as taking a good history to search out other clues suggesting the presence of biochemical imbalances. Based on this information they will be able to devise strategic nutritional programs, detoxification interventions and neurotransmitter balancing, all geared to the objective of preparing indiviuals for psychospiritual transfomation.
After successfully completing the Basic Didactic Level, participants can participate in the Masters Level of Certification. A minimum of 6 months of training is required to sit for the exam for the Masters Level. Participants who qualify for the Masters Level of Training (having completed the Basic Didactic Level) may participate for life in these webinar trainings and sit for the Masters Level Examination as many times as they wish (as often as ever 6 months). Having mastered an ability to interpret the two important tests for heavy metals (Hair Testing) and adrenal function (Cortisol and DHEA), they will go on to address many other
diagnostic testing protocols of brain function to precisely determine the nutritional deficiencies, toxicities and neurotransmitter imbalances which interfere with optimal brain function, are the actual causes of many common psychological symptoms (e.g., attention problems, mood problems, insomnia etc.), and most importantly prevent people from successfully engaging in psychotherapy, meditation, prayer, and other psychological growth and psychospiritual pursuits. In other words, a sick brain simply can't function at these optimal levels, and the Masters Level of Certification is primarily designed to prepare participants to do exactly that - fix sick brains and encourage "healed-brained" people to initiate the process of psychospiritual transformation.
Masters Level Certification participants will become familiar with
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapies (MBCT) and other psychospiritual paths of their choosing and be encouraged to teach other participants about these areas they have explored in their lives. Masters Level Certification participants will be strongly encouraged to have themselves or a loved one tested with a full battery of
test protocols and present the data to others. Full confidentiality is of course observed, and names are removed from all test results that are discussed in the webinar training format. Masters Level Certification participants must initiate some testing of their clients/patients and present the data in the webinar context, which will benefit from an intense scrutiny of the biochemical causes of symptoms and provide a consensus driven treatment protocol to restore brain nutritional status, detoxify the brain and rebalance the neurotransmitters.
Genetic testing of genetic polymorphisms which interfere with optimizing brain function will also occur.
Practitioners who are licensed to order their own testing on their patients are encouraged to do so, and then present cases in a confidential manner (leaving patient identifying data out of the discussion) in a
webinar context. Other non-licensed practitioners are instructed about
setting up lab testing through their client's physician, chiropractor, nurse practitioner, physician assistant or other practitioners who can order testing, and then present cases in a confidential manner (leaving patient identifying data out of the discussion) in a
webinar context.
Practitioners who pass their examination at the Masters Level of Certification participants will be invited to schedule appointments with Dr. Gant in the clinical setting at the
National Integrated Health Associates to directly observe and interact with Dr. Gant as he evaluates and interprets diagnostic testing on his patients. Also, practitioners are encouraged to acquire CE credit for attending one of
Dr. Gant's seminars which are provided regularly in various parts of the USA. Contact Dr. Gant at 202-277-4560 for more information about certifications and trainings. Practitioners who pass their examination at the Masters Level of Certification may at some point feel ready to lead webinar discussions for those preparing for their exam, or supervise and teach at the Basic Didactic Level of training.
